- When CKLN, Ryerson’s former campus-community radio station, lost its license to broadcast on 88.1 FM, it was anyone’s guess what would fill up that valuable empty space on the dial. The CRTC entertained 22 separate proposals from a number of different contenders. Today, the regulatory agency announced its choice: Rock 95 Broadcasting will use 88.1 FM to launch a new station dedicated to indie music and emerging Canadian artists. It will be called Indie Toronto.
