Vandalist: You Sunk My Bricolage Ship!

Urban art that floats our boat.

BY: Unknown
LOCATION: Leslie Spit
FIELD NOTES: We know, we know, technically it’s not “street” art. But should we deny other elements of the city the opportunity to make our urban landscape more interesting? Nay! Especially when the art is made with such thought and care. At about two- to three-feet long, these boats are made from the Spit itself: driftwood, twisted pieces of metal, branches, pine cones, and a delicate fish skeleton that had been bleached white by the sun, all lashed together and balanced for floating. Beautiful!

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email vandalist@torontoist.com.
