Let the Internet Teach You How to Read TTC Signals

If you’ve ever wondered about all those coloured lights in Toronto’s subway tunnels, the video above might be worth a look. It’s a labour of love by T2P0 Films, a year-old local company with a website full of short films aimed squarely at the transit-nerd demographic. Driving a train looks really complicated, and we don’t recommend you try to do it solely on the basis of what you see here. While the video is cool and well researched (it was put together, the makers say, using information found online, as well as interviews with subway operators and a TTC tower controller), we can’t vouch for its accuracy.

Still would like to be able to use a railfan seat at the front of the new Rocket Subway trains, so we could actually see the signals. That’s definitely a negative with them, the lack of a seat for passengers at the front.

nice video, to bad the editor doesn’t know how to use an audio mixer.

    Very cool video!

Very interesting. You’d sure have to be paying attention as an operator.
