Vandalist: Sleep Country Canada

Why paint a mattress anywhere else?

BY: Unknown
LOCATION: West Toronto
PHOTOS BY: Rebecca Chapman
FIELD NOTES: What we like most about these pieces is that someone made a stencil specifically for abandoned mattresses. It’s a rare garbage day when nary a mattress is to be seen, and it’s about time something creative was done with them.

CORRECTION: July 18, 9:55 AM The photos above were taken by Rebecca Chapman, not Michael Stulberg, as cited before. The correction has been made above.

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. Find something great? Email vandalist@torontoist.com.

There’s really no need to do this since the bodily fluid stains peppering all discarded mattresses are already avant grade abstract art.

      you mean garde ?

I always give curbed mattresses a nice wide buffer zone because I don’t want to catch bed bugs.

I hear the artist calls the piece ‘bed buxx’ as her tag name is ‘buxx’!….puny!

There’s a joke about tags that aren’t supposed to be removed in there somewhere.
