| FIELD NOTES: | As individuals we often go about our daily lives without acknowledging how our actions contribute to a community. But when our powers combine, we create a city of wonderful diversity. Indeed, people of all backgrounds and walks of life are welcome here. Instead of being a cultural melting pot, we encourage everyone to embrace and celebrate their roots—at least, when things go well. And that makes us a great city. We don’t know if this is what the artist is trying to say but that’s how we’ve interpreted it. And we love it. |
