Extra, Extra: Lovable Aliens and Excited Italians
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- Lepos is a determined alien who often frequents Toronto, and also is the central character in an in-development video game about Toronto, created by Diego Bergia. Once in a while Bergia releases clips from the work in progress; above is the latest.
- Another work in progress: Between the Lines, a documentary about graffiti in Toronto. We’ve been running some web shorts that have been created as teasers for that full-length film, and now filmmakers are kicking their fundraising efforts into high gear.
- Various agencies have been examining the Toronto G20 summit and assessing how policing efforts went; now added to that list is the Toronto Police Service, which commissioned a report of its own into that very troubled weekend. The report was set to be released tomorrow morning, but a copy inadvertently went up earlier today. The CBC has a first look at its findings.
- Depending on your affinity for soccer and large crowds, and your national allegiances, either run towards or far from Little Italy: a few minutes ago Italy defeated Germany 2–1 in the Euro 2012 semifinal. The street party will, if previous games have been any indication, be loud and long. Italy will face Spain in the final match, on Sunday.
