| FIELD NOTES: | It’s nice to see a defunct telephone, one of many in the city, being used for street art. As for the Virgin Mary, to be fair, she’s a pretty popular lady and probably has a huge backlog of calls to make. It’s not easy being the baby mama of/for God—it’s a big job with a lot of responsibilities. She has to answer prayers, look forlorn all the time, make appearances on toast, etc. So leave a message after the beep and she’ll get back to you as soon as she can. |
