Photoist Frames… Decking the Halls, Walls, Roof, and Lawn

Every so often, when we’re struck by a particular theme or subject, we look back through all the wonderful photos that have been submitted to the Torontoist Flickr Pool, and collect our favourites.

Though winter is officially three weeks away—and even with yesterday’s brief blast of flurries—it still doesn’t feel very close after Toronto’s rainy November. However, the soggy weather hasn’t stopped festive enthusiasts from dusting off their inflatable Santa decorations and stringing up all sorts of lights and decorations on and around their homes. So today, in celebration of all those holiday go-getters out there, we bring you some of our favourite photographs of decorated houses as submitted by Torontoist readers to the Torontoist Flickr Pool.

Do you have a neighbour who gets all Clark Griswold every year? Maybe your family gets into the holiday spirit by decorating your yard with a full set of reindeer? We would love to see the sights of your best neighbourhood decorations. You can share your photos with the Torontoist Flickr community here.

I can’t say that I am a fan of season’s decorations. Besides over-the-top light emissions (and other kinds of emissions) they tend to be quite ugly. Photos could make them worse. However, good ones will always brighten the streets with warm light and artistic inspiration, unfortunately there are not too many of those in T.O.
