Spotted: Tweedy Bike Riders

SPOTTED BY: Flickr photographer ‘Xander @416cyclestyle

WHERE: The streets of downtown Toronto, beginning at Trinity Bellwoods Park and ending at Grange Park.

WHEN: Saturday, October 15

WHAT: The first—though we are pretty sure it won’t be the last—Tweed Ride Toronto took place this weekend, a local installment of the dressed-up rides that began in London in 2009. Participants donned their herringboned best, and brought teacups along for the refreshments—the ride ended with a tea party, to suit the theme. In a bit of cognitive dissonance, they also rode by the Occupy Toronto protesters as they were just getting settled in St. James Park.
