• Must-read of the day: this month’s Walrus cover story, “How Toronto Lost Its Groove.” It’s a thoroughly researched and excellent primer on the perils and pitfalls the city has faced, and which—due to myriad political and cultural reasons—plague us still.
• Rebuttal of the day: A.V. Club editor (and former Torontoist staff writer) John Semley takes on Toronto Life‘s recent story about leaving this city for New York and shows Toronto some love, making a compelling case for why life here (even with all those perils and pitfalls) is something to embrace and celebrate.
