WHEN: Around 11 a.m. this morning

WHAT: “Red rover, red rover, let Doug Ford come over!” The generally dry and wonky atmosphere at City Hall was punctured today by a bunch of kids bearing juice and snacks. They arrived with their parents and some concerns about the future of daycare—the mini-invasion was also a protest against a proposal (now on hold) council was contemplating to cut the number of City-run daycare spaces in Toronto. Many are worried other cuts that affect daycare will still work their way into the 2012 budget, however, and kids came to City Hall to ask councillors to pinky swear that they’d leave daycare intact.
