—Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti (Ward 7, York West), who started a Facebook group called “Save the City..Support the Ford Administration” earlier this week, announcing (in that Facebook group) that he would be shutting down the site today, at least temporarily. In another post just after midnight, Mammoliti, who is a huge fan of ellipses, vented his frustration with some commenters, “This site is meant to be a site to allow others an opportunity to give input to the core service review that is being conducted at City Hall…Its [sic] not meant to accept some of the language I have read or the insults thrown at us and some of the users…. You are not welcome on this site if you think its [sic] your way to intimidate and throw others off….” He did not address complaints from the numerous members who asked why their posts, which they claim were legitimate questions, had been deleted from the group.

    Probably the smartest thing he could do at this point. It was obvious that the group was largely 'communists' and the remaining cons were embarrassing hateful.

    Of course, even with the censorship those lazy commies dramatically outnumber proper hardworking Taxpayers.

    Once you remove the astroturf, it turns out there simply isn't a whole lot of support out there in Internetland for Ford Nation. Oops.

    Big surprise the Baby didn't get the results he wanted so he took his ball and went home, I watched him in City Council he is the worst kind of bully, a coward and a whiner, how this man has kept his seat this long is a mystery to me and I think the people in his ward need their heads examined. Also he is so uneducated it is sad to read a grown man who can't spell simple words, or doesn't have the intelligence to at least spell check before he posts. He either doesn't care that he comes across as illiterate or he doesn't think anyone will notice.

    Giorgio got a whopping 5,300 votes in the last municipal election (down from the previous, go figure) and, it has been alleged elsewhere, a sizeable block may be from senile dementia victims of Italian extraction (hence the name change) who happen to be warehoused in his ward.

    In a city of 2.5-million, we have time for a barking toy poodle?

    To answer your question as to how he keeps getting elected in Ward 7………try bullying and intimidation of the immigrants that form a majority in our ward and the senior Italian population who fear his threats.

    He has kept his seat for so long as he intimidates and bullies the immigrants in his ward which make up a majority and the old Italian's believe his threats.  What the city is seeing now is nothing to what his constituents put up with.  Constant fear tactics!!!!!!!!!  We used to have Councillor Ford to help us…..not anymore.  I think City Council is just as afraid of Mammoliti.  Why else is nobody trying to reign him in or report him to the Integrity Commissioner.  Oh that's right…….she's probably a Communist.

    Mind you, if you look at a lot of the comments they were getting – things like “Ford got 47% and Smitherman was right-of-centre, so therefore 80% of voters were right-wing and support Ford's agenda” and so on – I'd say most of the pro-Ford comments were of the typical inane “astroturf” variety that you routinely find on newspaper comment boards. Other than that, just a few scattered “commies” weathering a storm of ad-hominems against them.
