Rumours started popping up earlier this afternoon on social networks that Michael Ignatieff, who just stepped down from his former gig as leader of the federal Liberal Party this week—you may have heard—is diving back into the academic world with a teaching position at the University of Toronto. Stephen Wicary of the Globe and Mail confirmed on Twitter that Ignatieff has been named senior resident at Massey College. The Globe adds that Ignatieff will teach courses in several departments, including the Munk School of Global Affairs and the political science department. U of T reportedly approached Ignatieff last year, when it was looking to replace Janice Stein, head of the Munk School, but he turned them down, saying the only job he was interested in was the prime minister’s.
