Doors Open Toronto 2011, in Photos

Doors Open Toronto has become a popular spring tradition in Toronto, drawing nosy curious Torontonians out of their homes and into some of the city’s most impressive structures. A chance to explore the interiors of these buildings, which are often closed to the public, also brings out the city’s best shutterbugs, who do their darndest to capture the best architectural angles and share what they’ve seen with those who couldn’t make it out. This is a roundup of the best shots from this years Doors Open.

Some reflections on Doors Open:- The CN Tower should be a giant weather beacon.- Looking at TO from above offers a parable of the possibilities & limitations of city planning.- Did you know City Hall has a 27th floor observation deck? You wouldn't know from its website.More at my blog: http://bit.ly/kCZNTY

And, right on cue, the new editorial ruling class of Torontoist misspells darnedest (“most darnd”?).

You can't just point out a typo, can you? You have to be a jackass about it. Looking through your profile history, 9 of every 10 comments you grace various sites with is critical of some formatting, coding, or typographic detail, but rather than be constructive or reserving it for email, you need everyone to see your contempt and how much you despise the person (unpaid, in many cases) responsible.

You might consider changing that friendly, smiling avatar of yours, as it's misleading.

The editorial ruling class of Torontoist would like to assure all our readers that “darndest” has indeed been spelled correctly. Thanks for playing, Joe, you'll get 'em next time!
