Vandalist: Depressed Mattress

The piece itself is great, but the shot of the waste collectors about to lift the matress–in its final moment before execution–into their truck is absolutely fantastic, and would make for a terrific series of similar photographs. I only wish I had thought of this myself!

Cool piece, but I saw a similar project by Sean Martindale (whose TENT project was just written about on here) more than a year ago I think… He made these giant 3D cardboard letters spelling out NATURE then took photos and video of city workers throwing it into a recycling/dump truck. Really awesome. I think it was actually part of a series too… It seemed more considered than this, but I do like the pun and photo.
