Vandalist: No Pies!

Once a week, Vandalist features some of the most interesting street art and graffiti from around Toronto. You should contribute.

BY:   Unknown Artist
LOCATION:   In Royal York Station
SHOT BY:   Steph
FIELD NOTES:   By the simple and genius addition of a single line, this iconic no-smoking sign in a TTC station is transformed into strange anti-pie propaganda. Perhaps someone has had a bit too much of pumpkin pie leftovers.

Saw this at Ossington Station too.
(What happened to Vandalist last week?)

This is a pretty old and common joke at this point

Yeah, it sucks when stuff is overplayed. For example, those Chilean miners — they’re so mainstream now, but I liked them better when they were underground.

Then there were those Metro Newspaper Boxes in the late 90s where “FREE DAILY” was written with decals on the side of the box. Nearly every day I would walk by one and read “I PEE DAILY”…that might have been overplayed, but it was funny…

Reminds one of “Press button, receive bacon” jokes on hand dryers. Although I still find both of these kinda funny.

I wish more people would make Toronto this interesting. I heart intelligent graffiti.
