Joe Pantalone to Announce “Key Endorsement,” Possibly David Miller’s

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Joe Pantalone’s camp issued a press release announcing that the mayoral candidate would be making, on Wednesday morning, an “important announcement” and receiving a “key endorsement” from a “key progressive figure in Toronto politics.” George Smitherman got his own endorsement from Joe Mihevc, but Pantalone’s press office is promising that theirs is better. Global News sources say the mystery endorsement-giver is still-mayor-for-the-time-being David Miller, who (coincidentally?) retweeted someone’s anti-Smitherman missive earlier today. Or maybe it’ll be some other key progressive figure! Wild speculation in the comments, please.

Barbara Hall was a stupid joke that I realized no-one would get as a joke, because it isn’t obviously a joke. What I meant: it’d be funny if it was as underwhelming as Barbara Hall, who has totally dropped off the map.

I love how the Google Ad displayed on this page is for Rob Ford.
I got the BHall joke, though I do respect stuff she’s done since her turn as mayor, including her role with the Ontario Human Rights Commissioner.
I for one am curious, and would like it to be someone other than David Miller, just to make things interesting. I’m struggling to come up with ideas though, either serious ones or in jest. I think most progressives have already come out in support for Pantalone (Mihevc aside).

Honestly, at this stage in the game, I wish the endorsement was Pantalone bowing out to endorse Smitherman. Rossi’s “I’m in it to win it,” Pantalone’s “key progressive” endorsement: They’re all polishing deck chairs on the titanic.
