Another Televised Mayoral Debate, Another Liveblog

CP24′s fifth televised mayoral debate is 8 p.m. today, Tuesday. You remember the last two, right? So you know the deal: Torontoist’s Christopher Bird will be live-blogging throughout. How defeated will he feel by the time the cameras stop rolling? Our wager is: very. Check back before 8 p.m. tonight to follow along.

If this debate turns out to be like the others,
then Christopher Bird deserves a large bottle
of quality Scotch or some other quality
    beverage.

With these recent polls, I wonder if Rob Ford will even bother to show up tonight. Not to mention the fact that Tuesday’s usually a fairly popular night for bars to have cheap wings.

BlogTO pointed out something worth noting about the most recent poll: Over 800 of the 1,012 respondents were aged 50 or older; more than 500 of them over 60.

He had better show up but he’ll feel
    claustriphobic because the others are
going to close in on him and he’d better
not sputter the same old, same old.
As for the polling results and
the skewing to older persons such as
myself, all I can do is remind you
of the old headline: DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN.
That poll was very highly skewed!

Thank you for the link, but I’m reading “Of Nanos’s 1012 respondents, 558 were over 50 years old and 320 of those were over 60.” Still worth noting, but not as extreme.

    Well damn.

thank you guys for some insight into these NANOS polls, which seem to have come out of nowhere and are now the source, the bible for this sad race for mayor.
