The Toronto Street Advertising Takeover, which we reported on earlier this week, replaced street advertisements with art in locations all around downtown. So many ad pillars and billboards were taken over that it was impossible for us to photograph all the results. Fortunately, TOSAT’s organizers thought of that: participants were encouraged to bring cameras along during the action, and the resulting photos—of practically every single piece of art posted during TOSAT—are now viewable on TOSAT’s newly launched official website.
Many TOSAT pieces have already disappeared, as Pattison and the other targeted billboard companies continue to return the affected pillars and billboards to their normal states. If you didn’t get a chance to see any of the installations, this online photo gallery is now your only reliable means of catching up—though there is a convenient map of locations for anyone who might feel like venturing out into the streets to see what pieces remain.
