—Maury Chaykin, in an interview with Q in April, about living in Canada while working in the United States. The character actor—Brooklyn-born, but an eventual dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada—died today, at sixty-one.

    I remember first seeing Maury Chaykin as Hal Banks in a movie
    Canada’s Sweetheart: The Saga of Hal Banks. What a convincing performance! It was a Sunday night movie on CBC TV, I believe.
    It was fun watching him over the decades. His list of films and television roles is quite extensive.
    But, 61 is too young to go. Sad.
