Toronto Before, During, and After Men’s Hockey Gold

“A gold medal for Canada’s men,” we wrote last week, “would set off a collective national orgasm the likes of which this country has never seen.” Well, it’s come: on Sunday evening, millions upon millions watched Canada beat the United States, 3–2, in overtime.
Torontoist’s staff photographers and the many great photographers who contribute to Torontoist’s Flickr pool were scattered around downtown over the course of the afternoon, before most everyone converged on Yonge and Dundas after the win. Their photos are above.

It great that we won but I think there was a bit too much flag waving at the Olympics. That’s something the Americans are infamous for.

Oh, this looks like so much fun! I wish I could have been there!
Oh,well…they say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I’m looking forward to my reunion with our great country. Only 46 more days!
    Way to go, Canada!
