George Smitherman has resigned as MPP of Toronto Centre, freeing up his schedule so that he can enter the race to be mayor of Toronto. Meanwhile, down at the Elections Office, Rocco Rossi filed his nomination papers in that same mayoralty race. And among sitting councillors who have already registered to run again are: Adrian Heaps (Ward 35, Scarborough Southwest), John Parker (Ward 26, Don Valley West), Howard Moscoe (Ward 15, Eglinton-Lawrence), and Michael Del Grande (Ward 39, Scarborough-Agincourt).
