"My Neighbour Jerks My Chicken"

Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas, you perverts.

The umbrella organization—which the city's dozens of individual Business Improvement Areas (or BIAs) are part of, representing thousands of local businesses—is blitzing the city with a new "Think Big, Buy Local" ad campaign, featuring local business owners with clever captions like "My Neighbour Is All Tock" for a watchmaker, "My Neighbour Gets On My Nerves" for a Zen Shiatsu therapist, and the slightly racier "My Neighbour Says Size Matters" for a tailor. (You can see all nine ads in this PDF.)

But we can't help but feel sorry for poor, poor West Indian cook Ed Pottinger, photographed in his kitchen in Riverdale; although he may make jerk chicken, we'd really rather he didn't jerk ours.

Hat tip to Ryan Bigge.

Very good, irreverent, local ... I like them.

Nice.

That photo now belongs on failblog.org.

Of course, a little first-letter substitution in the "tabia" acronym will bring out the Beavis & Butthead in anyone...

I understand the people at the neighbourhood rub'n'tug are pissed.

My friend who sells Persian rugs knows where I can get a good shag.

LOL. That's not subliminal at all!
