There were a bunch of blue jays around my house during caterpillar season.

In our yard we have blue jays every winter, robins every spring and cardinals year round. Amongst plenty of other wildlife. Probably helps that we have two mulberry trees growing.

There's lots of noisy jays in my area of the city, they work well as wake up calls.

Maybe this is referring to the baseball team missing the post-season... yet again.
