    It’s such a shame I didn’t have my camera with me yesterday, when I passed a small business owner in Corktown furiously scrubbing the spray paint off the side of his shop.
    But I challenge other Torontoist readers to capture such moments and put them in the group, on the off chance that the victims of graffitists ever get the proportion of virtual ink in this space that should rightly be theirs..

    Rek, I’m not suggesting Torontoist owes anyone anything; I’m suggesting that good reportage on the subject of vandalism would include some coverage of the negatives, and not just this constant laudatory exposure of graffiti without regard for its consequences.
    I am not insane.

    This column doesn’t “report on vandalism”, I don’t know where you got that idea. There have been articles covering related events/pieces/people/issues, but Torontoist is quite obviously in favour of street art/graffiti and I don’t think that will change.
    And yes, you did say Torontoist owes them coverage here, saying proportionate coverage “should rightly be theirs”.

    I think it’s less of “Torontoist is in favour of street art/graffiti” and more like “Torontoist appreciates that street art and graffiti can have artistic merit.”
