Strike Watch: Day Thirty-Eight

With a tentative agreement reached and the deal waiting to be ratified, we'll be glad to stop accumulating photos of accumulated trash—soon. Torontoist's photographers have been checking in on garbage and recycling bins around the city throughout the strike, an attempt to follow the tangible effects of the strike and complement our other coverage.

NOTES: Says Miles Storey, "Gordy, a volunteer with onetoronto.ca—a local residents' organisation set up in the wake of the city workers' strike to help keep the streets litter-free—cleaned up an overflowing bin outside St Lawrence Market, his work constantly interrupted by well-wishers and curious passersby. When told about the postponement of the CUPE ratification vote, he replied that it probably wouldn't make any difference to onetoronto.ca's work, since he did not expect the workers to be back on the job until after the holiday weekend."
