Strike Watch: Day Eighteen

As the city accumulates garbage throughout the ongoing city workers’ strike, we’ll be accumulating photos. Torontoist’s photographers are checking in on garbage and recycling bins around the city throughout the strike, an attempt to follow the tangible effects of the strike and complement our other coverage.

    Yikes. What happened to contracted collection for high rises? None of this crap around any other buildings I’ve seen.

    Many of the condos are contracted out and garbage removed. Not so much the same for many of the older, smaller apartments around town. Pockets around Keele/Sheppard area is just the same as what you see above. Mind you, last week was a total garbage disaster on Springhurst (just east of Jameson) and yet this week, it was all cleaned up except for a few spotty areas. Jameson however hadn’t changed from last week…. same mess, bigger smell.

    I wonder if there’s a sign in the lobby that says “There is a garbage strike. Keep throwing your garbage in a big pile out front.”
