We’re Looking For Newsstand Writers
In addition to looking for a few great new people to contribute to Torontoist, we’re also now looking—specifically—for a few early risers to tend to Newsstand, our weekday morning roundup of local news from other outlets across the city.
We want organized, well-read, interesting, and interested writers with terrific curatorial skills who can compile and write Newsstand a few mornings a week, as well as take it in a bit of a different direction: the feature’s current format, of us linking to others’ stories without summarizing or commenting on them, has worked well, but we’re interested in making our news roundups a little more like those we used to publish—a bit more summary, a bit more commentary, and maybe, just maybe, some jokes. (Here are a few examples of past news roundups.)
To apply, please review what we look for in, and offer to, all contributors, and then send an email to hiring@torontoist.com with why you’d be great for Newsstand. The deadline for applying is midnight on this Saturday, July 18.
