ART: The AGO is having its cherry popped by the local queer community with the hosting of its first-ever official Pride Week event, Artwherk! You have until June 28 to catch the show, which will feature a mix of visual, installation, and live art from local emerging LGBTQ artists. Formed in 2004, the Artwherk! Collective provides a space for queer youth self-expression in the city's Pride Week celebration. Tonight's launch will include a discussion panel and live performances by Ryan G. Hinds, a Toronto and New York stage actor and cabaret performer, and singer-songwriter Amai Kuda. Art Gallery of Ontario (317 Dundas Street West), 6–8:30 p.m., FREE.

FILM: Stitch rate meets frame rate in a series of short films curated by Allyson Mitchell, "24 Stitches Per Second," which focus on the handiwork and labour of textile artists. More than ten short films will be screened, including Jeffrey’s Underwear, Bobble and Weave: A True Crochet Story, Around the Corner from Solitude, and Sewing Machine Song. This list of films raises one question: are Jeffrey's underwear sewn, knit, or crocheted? Textile Museum of Canada (55 Centre Avenue); 6:30 p.m.; members $10, non-members $12, full-time students PWYC.

WORDS: The Box, a mixed cultural salon, presents its second-quarter event tonight, hosted by Louise Bak, a local poet, performance artist, and sexual activist. It will be an evening of performance, words, film, and music by eight artists, including experimental musician Freida Abtan, comedian Levi MacDougall, video artist and cultural worker Petrina Ng, novelist and fashion columnist Derek McCormack, and production designer and filmmaker Phillip Barker. Rivoli (332 Queen Street West), 8 p.m., PWYC ($5–10 suggested).

MUSIC: The Soundstreams Salon 21 season wraps up tonight with the Minimal Music Patio Party. Join U of T Professor of Percussion and member of the percussion ensemble Nexus and Steve Reich and Musicians, Russell Hartenberger, for an evening of exploration of minimalist music with a lecture and listening session. Gear up for a session full of collaboration, networking, and discovery—not to mention consonant harmonies, steady pulses, and slow transformations. Bata Shoe Museum (327 Bloor Street West), 7 p.m., FREE (registration required).

TORONTOIST: The third edition of Torontoist's Patio Series will be held tonight. Staffers, readers, commenters, and lurkers—anyone with anything to do with Torontoist—are encouraged to get offline and join us. It promises to be an evening full of excellent weather, food, drinks, and conversation. The Pilot (22 Cumberland Street), 5:30 p.m., FREE.
