Drama at the Hilton Hotel

perez_assaulted2.jpg
“I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”
So tweeted infamous gossip blogger Perez HIlton from the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel last night, following both his and the Black Eyed Peas’ appearances at the Much Music Video Awards. Though Hilton sent the message via his Sidekick, and his hotel likely had operational telephones, he asked his 1,031,076 Twitter followers to call the police for him—and apparently some did, spurring a subsequent message: “The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them.” (Hilton said later that he did call the police himself, but they weren’t showing up.)
The first word from Will.i.am came via a text message to a friend, who posted it online: “What the hell would I be doing sockin parez hilton???” The Black Eyed Peas frontman then created a video explaining his side of the story, which revealed how the fracas was started when Fergie approached Hilton at an MMVA afterparty at Ultra and asked him why he was giving the Peas a hard time on his site.
It should be noted at this point that the world’s children are starving and there still is no cure for cancer.
Anyway, the incident allegedly escalated later during the Universal Music afterparty at Cobra, when Will.i.am approached Hilton directly and challenged him for hurting Fergie’s feelings and being disrespectful to the group. According to Will, as the conversation was ending, Hilton said, “You’re a faggot, Will.i.am!” And since Hilton isn’t the only one whose fans will gleefully do his bidding, the alleged assault then happened at the hands of a frenzied fan, who doled out a Boom Boom Pow to Perez.
Hilton, who tweeted into the early morning, stated that it was Will.i.am’s security guard who laid the smackdown. “I just feel so empty right now,” said Hilton, before turning in to “nap for a bit.”
So while Perez sleeps off the brown bottle flu and the Toronto Police spring into action, let this be a lesson to you kids: the next time you have a disagreement with a celebrity and you end up assaulted, don’t take the law into your own hands—take it to the internet.

UPDATE, 10:30 a.m.: A very angry Perez Hilton has uploaded his own video statement. Hilton claims that the assault happened not by a fan, but by Black Eyed Peas manager Polo Molina.

    So (allegedly) a has-been punched a who-cares after a so-what event?
    Riveting.

Two grown men have a cat-fight at the MMVAs? Who cares – ok, maybe I care a bit.
I hope that finally the mainstream media will stop asking these two for their opinions. They’re clearly not very bright.
Will.i.am replaced political experts as the main commentator on Obama’s election night on CNN. And if Perez Hilton is the best person Larry King can find to debate gay marriage, American queers should be worried.
And allegedly calling Wil.i.am a faggot? Come of Perez, let him deal with his sexuality on his own. He doesn’t have to come out if he doesn’t want to. And you should know how uncooth that is as a gay man yourself.
Sometimes publicity is bad publicity. Let’s hope this is the publicity stunt that buries these two. So we never hear from them again…

I was hoping this was one of those few blogs where I didn’t have to read about this guy. Oh well.

I don’t follow these guys at all, but I am ‘aware’ of Perez… I can’t help but be completely unsurprised that someone punched him. Not that people should, but doesn’t he make a ‘career’ by ripping on people? Isn’t he just a funny bully?

“It should be noted at this point that the world’s children are starving and there still is no cure for cancer.”
    Nicely done, Sir.

I still don’t understand why Perez would call Will.i.am a faggot.

He said in the video that he was trying to come back with the most devastating insult that he knew would work Will.i.am up.
What’s funny is that I got a press release from teh SoHo Met, which is milking the free PR for the hotel, stating how it’s “a favourite of the celebrities, as well as pop and movie stars. Many of the presenters, winners and performers of this year’s Much Music Awards stayed at the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel.”
They also said that as soon as the tweets started at about 3:30 a.m., the hotel got a flood of calls from places as far away as China and India.
Even bad publicity is someone else’s good publicity!

The only thing I can see as devastating about that comment is how homophobic it is. Reminds me of the racist cop in the movie colors.

Nicely brought into perspective by using the starving children and cancer cure examples.
How come with all the cell-phone cameras around no one has video or grainy images of this? I would love to see them. (Assuming it did actually happen.)
For all those who are against someone punching someone else, I would say, if it’s deserved, so be it. Back in the days before we all wanted to be victims and sue the people we felt had wronged us, people stood up for themselves. If someone felt they needed to insult someone else, they knew there might be a “response” they would have to deal with. These days, anyone can do almost anything with no consequences, which is why we are in the state, as a society, that we are in.

lmao!!!! I missed your comment when I first read this.
    Bravo!

    No, he’s not funny.

Ask and ye shall receive, for the most part. “TMZ has just obtained video footage of the heated confrontation between Perez Hilton and Will.I.Am — in which Perez can clearly be heard calling the Black Eyed Pea a “f**king f*ggot.”

The “entertainment” district’s assholery amplification field strength is off the chart. It only takes a few hours there to turn Perez Hilton into a homophobic yob!

This article inspired me to search for a site that I suspected would already exist and could be used to express my thoughts on this matter for me.

The next morning post-rationalization of this insult is amusing. We’re supposed to believe that he thought it all out? Especially after seeing the TMZ video?
GLAAD has asked for an apology, and it all just gets more amusing after black-eyed-perez was so indignant in regards to gay marriage.
This story should be referenced in definitions of “Schadenfreude.”
