1:05 a.m.—Here's hoping this one doesn't last a whole day, but it looks like power's out in a big block of the city's west end. Torontoist staffers first reported problems at about 12:30 a.m. near Dundas West Station and at Bloor and Ossington, and apparently we weren't alone: Twitter users, helpfully once again using the #darkTO tag, have been shouting out their locations, and power is currently being reported as off at Queen and Dufferin, Dundas Street West and Sorauren, Roncesvalles and Queen, Lansdowne and Bloor, Dupont and Bathurst, Dupont and Christie, and Harbord and Ossington.

1:35 a.m.—And here's your first pic of the night, shot by reader Andrew May from Yonge and Davisville. We're having some (ironic!) significant server problems on our end, which may force this to be our last update of the night.
1:51 a.m.—BlogTO has a funny photo they'd like to share with you.
1:58 a.m.—Unfortunately, we're having significant technical problems of our own right now, significant enough that we're going to have to call it a night. If the blackout's still on by morning, we'll return to our coverage then. Until then, we highly recommend following the #darkTO tag on Twitter.
2:29 a.m.—No! We've persisted through a wonky server and we're back. And so's the power, reportedly. BlogTO says it's back at Dufferin and Dupont; lockandquay says it's back at "Roncesvalles and north of Queen."
2:33 a.m.—Plenty of other reports of the power flicking back on (at Runnymede and Annette, at Delaware and Bloor, etc.) as CityNews points to the potential culprit: "the same transformer that caused the blackout in the winter." Now we're really going to bed.

1:17 p.m.—The blackout's long over, but a few beautiful photos of the dark corner of Keele Street and Dundas Street West fell into our Flickr pool over night, shot by Xenomancer, who also photographed the same intersection during the last blackout.

I was working at The Drake last night & we were out from almost exactly 12:15am until 2:30am.
I'm at Bloor and Ossington but the power didn't go out here as far as I know. This time.
How do you manage to post on Twitter if the power's out? (I'm asking this honestly, not sarcastically.) Doesn't losing electricity also mean that your internet router or DSL/cable modem would go down to?
erm, that should be: "would go down too"
Maffs tweet on their cell phones dawg.
Ah ha. So this is what the future looks like.
