Opening the Doors

Toronto has been contemplating its architecture for far longer than a decade, but this year’s tenth anniversary installment of Doors Open was a breezy, blue-skied, picture-perfect way of reinforcing the point: we are officially fascinated by our buildings. Many of our photographers, and many of our Flickr Pool contributors, spent their weekends exploring the nooks and sometimes hidden crannies of some Toronto’s most notable buildings, and we’ve gathered the best of their finds here for your viewing pleasure. Picture-perfect, indeed.

CORRECTION: JULY 9, 2009 The stained glass Star of David originally captioned as being photographed at the Anshei Minsk Synagogue in Kensington Market is actually a detail of the Kiever Shul, also in Kensington.

    Great photos!
The TTC Greenwood Yard subway repair shop and the Albany Club were all I was able to attend. The Greenwood yard was a lot of fun and the Albany club was merely to appease my nosiness.

These photos are stunning! I am particularly taken by the shots of the Commerce Court.

I know I’m late here, but the photos Taken by Nick and captioned as “Anshei Minsk Synagogue” are actually The Kiever Shul.
