Torontoist is one of thirteen cities in the worldwide Gothamist network. Each Sunday, the editors of every site—from LAist to Londonist—choose their most interesting article, a list that is compiled into the network-wide feature Elsewhere In The Ist-a-Verse.
- LAist was just getting over Coachella when they found this video of a naked would-be wizard getting tasered by cops at the concert.
- DCist wasn't crazy about a local magazine cover that featured a Photoshopped, shirtless President Obama.
- Shanghaiist explored one of the city's largest Muslim markets and stuffed themselves with lamb and pilaf.
- Bostonist drooled over delicious (Southern) food and drink, from chicken bourbon to cheddar grits.
- Chicagoist hopes former governor Rod Blagojevich took note of their suggestions for other reality shows because a judge declined Blago's request to go to Costa Rica to participate in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here (though that didn't stop Blagojevich from filming a promo for the show).
- Gothamist spoke to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow about her show, the gift of the populist tea bag protests and pre-prohibition cocktails.
- Phillyist ran away with the circus.
- Londonist went dragon-spotting to celebrate St George's day.
- Seattlest visited the 1960s this week, with John Steinbeck's visit to the Pike Place Market and the car that goes with the Space Needle, the never-built 1962 Ford Seattle-ite XXI.
- SFist was surprised to hear SF Mayor and California Gubernatorial candidate Gavin Newsom defend Miss California.

It's too bad the wizard couldn't conjure up a better endowment for himself.
he was clearly on drugs.
those cops that were just trying to do their job and were quite polite in the beginning of the video.
i'm fairly saddened by the public's response in the video. i wouldn't want to go to a festival with a naked druggie wandering around.
Well, if you don't want to see naked fat guys, stay away from Burning Man too, not to mention my house. I guess you also would have wanted to avoid Woodstock.
As is clear from the video, absolutely no one at Coachella was being bothered by this guy.
The really sad thing is that any halfway decent social worker would have been able to deal with this guy. (Who was clearly pretty high... like 60% of the rest of the crowd) But these burly cops only understand one way to operate: comply with our demands, or be wrestled to the ground and tasered.
It's shameful. Not only for the behaviour of these particular cops, but because they are typical of the way policing is done in general.
I'd say they are typical of the way policing is done in southern California.
