Heroes and Villains 2008: Superheroes and Supervillains

On Christmas and Boxing Day, we picked the heroes and villains of 2008, and, in polls starting last week and ending yesterday, you chose the superheroes and supervillains from amongst them (and tossed in a few suggestions of your own). With a little less than a thousand votes cast in each category, there were more than a few surprises: a supervillain who, in a field of nineteen candidates, took nearly two-fifths of the votes; a tie between man and machine for superhero of the year; and a supervillain who was not among our original villains but who nearly cracked the top five nonetheless.

According to our wildly unscientific polling, here are the best of the best and the worst of the worst people, places, and things in Toronto in 2008, as chosen by you.
