THEATRE: Clown spectacular Aga-Boom uses the theme of "paper" as its starting point and takes the audience on a crazy joyride from there. Tonight is the Canadian premiere for the acclaimed production designed by Cirque du Soleil veteran Dimitri Bogatirev, but the production has a very short run (until January 3). Partial proceeds from the show will be donated to The Hospital for Sick Children. Bluma Appel Theatre, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts (27 Front Street West), 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., $39&ndash$65.
MUSIC: You know you've hit the big time when you've been immortalized in Lego. See the real Fred Eaglesmith and his band play their rocking roots music at Hugh's Room tonight for the second of two Toronto shows. Hugh's Room (2261 Dundas Street West), 8:30 p.m., $30.
MUSIC: Toronto-area bands playing tonight at Dave Bookman's Nu Music Nite are Markham's Tree Star, Quiet Center, the haunting Matthews Brothers, and Kitchener ska band Sound Foundation. Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West), 9 p.m., FREE.
THEATRE: Puppetmongers have created a delicately fabricated Edwardian puppet piece called Bed and Breakfast, based on the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. This afternoon is the last chance to see it for the regular price (there is a $30 New Year's Gala version tomorrow). We wonder if the show will be hard to watch without thinking about Spike Jonze's marionette-inspired Being John Malkovich. Tarragon Theatre ExtraSpace (30 Bridgman Avenue), 2:30 p.m., $16.
