Happy Seven Closed, Finally

A day after Toronto Public Health told CityNews they "found no evidence of a rat infestation" and "no problem whatsoever with compliance with public health standards" at Happy Seven Restaurant on Spadina—this despite a somewhat obvious rat problem—the restaurant has finally been shut down.

that's a shame. i had a dinner reservation there tonight. i heard the bubonic plague is a great way to lose a few extra pounds.

A year ago I reported the Subway restaurant at Pape and Danforth to Dinesafe because of mice. They replied with "no sign of infestation" in that case, which means to me it's OK to have mice as long as they don't live there. Unless you can embarrass them with photos/video.

^^ because DineSafe was looking for telltale signs of mice, such as:

-perfectly round semi-circle holes in a wall's baseboard
-trails of cheese left behind by the mouse

That's ludicrous! A mouse wouldn't leave behind any cheese.

What they should be looking for is a big cat with a mallet, suspiciously pressed against the wall near a semi-circle hole.

You guys really made me laugh. (Mark & Atomeyes)

Mark: would DineSafe close them down if there was a cat present, holding a mallet?
think we're better off calling WSIB.

"think we're better off calling WSIB."

At least the mouse should.

With the e-coli outbreak from Harvey's and the ongoing Lysteria crisis people should be more concerned that the Stephen Harper and their deregulation evangilists have been re-elected. There are worse vermin than a few rats running around Chinatown
