This one is truly a shining example of the “best street art” our fine city has to offer.

    I like this truck more.

Alfah was tragically killed several years ago. RIP.

It would be nice sometimes (especially in cases like this one) if these features ran a little more info– even just a small byline– about the artists or their work, in cases where more info is known.

i hate graffiti. this, you know.
but i find the fact that the defacement of a defacement was captured on film and posted on Vandalist to be ironically amusing. and i enjoyed it.

    Thanks Rek!
James, “best street art” ≠ prettiest street art, all the time.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not among the “all street art is evil” brigate that is so vocal here, and I guess ShowTell’s comment clarified why this is noteworthy..
But you have to admit (I’d hope) that to a casual observer who doesn’t follow the graffiti “scene” at all, someone’s name spraypainted on a truck is pretty much devoid of any actual artistic or esthetic merit. Most definitely a small byline would be useful in cases like these.
I’m still 100% stumped at why this post ever saw the light of day.

    erm, brigate = brigade

I think that if someone wanted to characterize the difference between Vandalist posts and other street art posts on Torontoist (they aren’t one and the same), it is that Vandalist seems consistently more interested in form than content, whereas the other posts tend to be interested in both equally.

If you guys are interested, there’s some great MS-18 “art” facing the park and community centre at Lansdowne and St Clair.
