Elizabeth May—Green Party leader and former Tall Poppy interviewee—will be in the televised leaders debates at the beginning of October after all, says Canada.com. The move comes thanks to the NDP and Conservative Party, who earlier today retracted their objections to her participation. Congratulations to Ms. May, who didn't even have to do anything to make two major political opponents look totally awful.

now if only the "consortium" could move the English debate from opposite Palin vs Biden we'd be good to go. (I have a PVR so I don't care but why should anyone have to miss the Pitbull Book-Banner versus the Long-winded Plagiarist?
Good, the more fractured the Canadian left becomes the harder it will be for their demented policies to gain momentum.
Why do so many consider the Greens left-wing?
I'm sick of all this left wing-right wing shit, it's all rhetoric going on like a broken record on both sides. PickleToes, your just as original as the left as you are with the right. Just thought you should know how much in common you have with them.
Gaulder - He's a troll, so he has a lot in common with Harper for sure.
Is it too much to ask that politicians put the people ahead of their party?
Gauldar: You mean that rek and I have something in common? Woah!
The Greens are almost as scary as, well, everyone else. They're all a bunch of Centrists with nary a vision of who they want to be when they grow up.
Let's just get this election over with so Justin can take over the Natural Governing Party and wow us with his good looks and sexy wife... if only she'd party with Bono.
canuck1975: If that ever happens I think I'll have to go suck on a shotgun.

I’m John McCain and I Approved This Message.
Gauldar: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA++
My support for Harper doesn't translate into support for McCain. After all, the CPC is the ideological equivalent of the Democratic Party.
Having lived in both countries, I'd dispute that.
Looking at the platform differences, the CPC is more Republican than the Liberals are Democrat.
If it wasn't for the Canadian Reform Alliance Party merging with the PCs, they probibly would be more like the Democratic Party in the US.
The CR/AP would still be more Republican, but PC would lean toward Democrats, although more like Roosevelt/Wilson Democrats than Carter/Clinton.
