SPORTS: The Toronto FC are playing FC Dallas this afternoon. The team's had a week to rest since their loss to Real Salt Lake last Monday, so hopefully a victory is in store. BMO Field (170 Princes' Boulevard), 4 p.m., $21–$85.

"SPORTS": In case soccer's too sissy a sport for you, you better head over to the Amsterdam Brewery, where Stranglehold Pro Wrestling is presenting their latest joust, "R.E.H.A.B." (which stands for "Really Extreme Hardcore Asskicking Brutality"). According to Stranglehold Wrestling's official MySpace, "if you’re looking for mediocrity, cookie-cutter images of pro-wrestling or no-name untalented wannabes, then [sic]its better that you fuck off right now for Stranglehold Wrestling is not for the weak of heart...so, come on in and experience the insanity of Stranglehold Wrestling, where the weak are killed and eaten." For some reason, the event is 19+. Amsterdam Brewery (22 Bathurst Street), 3 p.m., $20.

DANCE: Entertainment promoters Soulshock Entertainment and Baba Kahn are presenting this year's Caribana Closing Night party. The event, held at CiRCA, will be the biggest club party Caribana's ever thrown, mostly because CiRCA wasn't open last August. There will be appearances from some pretty big names: musicians Kardinal Offishall and Estelle, and actors Morris Chestnut and Vivica A. Fox (among others). The event is hosted by MC Kid Kut and Flow 93.5 personality Devo Brown, and tracks will be spun by Baba Kahn and Starting from Scratch. CiRCA, 10 p.m., $35.

MUSIC: This week's edition of Wavelength Toronto features conceptual art comedy duo Life of a Craphead, returning Wavelength favourite The Blankket, and Stratford punk-rock group The Hoax. Sneaky Dee's, 9 p.m., PWYC ($5 suggested).

Stranglehold Wrestling seems a bit like "bumfights" (from a few years ago).
