PARADE: The 41st annual Caribana Parade runs along Lakeshore Boulevard today, starting at Exhibition Place and moving west. This year's celebration—like years past—will include Jamaican reggae bands, Latin salsa, Haitian zouk, and other music of the Caribbean, alongside colourfully-dressed dancers and other performers. And there will also be lots and lots of delicious Caribbean food. Exhibition Place (200 Princes' Boulevard), 10 a.m., FREE (unless you want to sit in the seated areas, where tickets are $25).

MUSIC: Nebraskan indie pop group Tilly and the Wall are playing at the Mod Club tonight. Fun fact: the band boasts a tap dancer rather than a drummer! Tilly and the Wall's music is charming and pleasant, and definitely worth hearing live. Following their set is weekly dance night UK Underground with special guest band Elephant. The Mod Club (722 College Street), 8 p.m., $14.50.

DANCE: Newmindspace side project Newsoundspace is having a fundraiser to raise money for Newmindspace's next Capture the Flag game and subway party. The event features UK powerpop duo Stupid Fresh; Canadian electro house producers Hatiras and DJ Jelo; and DJ Bubblyfish, whose tunes are played via Gameboy. FESTIVAL: A celebration of Turkish culture and traditions, the Toronto Turkish Festival is on today and tomorrow in Yonge-Dundas square. There will be live Turkish music and dance, an arts and crafts show, and family-friendly activities. Yonge-Dundas Square, 10 a.m., FREE.
