The Daily Photoist: August 20, 2008

Every weekday morning, bright and early, we feature a photo (or two) from a photographer in the Torontoist Flickr Pool. It's our way of giving the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve.

Ontario is home to some cacti, but those are mullein plants...

:-)

the leslie spit is what i consider to be quintessential Toronto.
former garbage dump.
now an amazing nature area.

we go there weekly to walk, see birds and take pictures.

nice colours in this picture

David Newland the title is because they remind me of the Saguaro cactus in Arizona not because they are a member of the Cactaceae family. The prickly pear the only Ontario (Point Pelee) cactus is hardly reminiscent of a Western.

I will now tag my photo Verbascum thapsus (Great or Common Mullein)just to prevent confusion:)
