Kathy Griffin D-nies Us!

Controversy magnet Kathy Griffin will be in town for her sold-out show at Massey Hall this Friday. Griffin is touring to support her new comedy album, For Your Consideration—which she is desperate to score a Grammy nod for—and the fourth season of her Emmy award-winning television show My Life On The D-List, now playing Friday nights on the Comedy Network.

A hit TV show, an Emmy, and a tour that's selling like she's Madonna: not very D-List at all! Before, Griffin made the news only for the more outrageous stuff—joking about Dakota Fanning going into rehab or telling Jesus to "suck it" during her Emmy acceptance speech—but, now, even the rumour of her assistant quitting sends the gossip boards aflame. She actually had to get her reps to quell the whispers.

When we requested an interview, we got an absolutely un-D-List response from not her publicist, but an assistant to the publicist, who stated that Griffin was too busy between the obligations for her tour and her show. Girlfriend is moving on up. At least we’re in good company: she turned down Dancing With The Stars too.

Griffin is also known to take swings at Scientology, which puts her on the B-list at least, as far as I'm concerned.

I second that motion. I think she could definitely be B-list. Especially since she's taken on Ann Coulter as well, calling her a "nutbag."

I love Kathy Griffin. Shame about getting denied for an interview, that would've been nuts.
