Whether we like it or not, some of us will be in Toronto all summer, with nary a trip or vacation elsewhere in sight. As a remedy, we've created Tourist. Every weekend morning, bright and early, of the summer we're featuring a photo (or two) from a globe-trotting photographer in the Torontoist Flickr Pool.
American cops
WALL STREET, NYCBY TAYLOR ZHOU

Elsewhere in the Ist-a-Verse

They're putting on quite the show with all that over-the-top SWAT style police presence at the NYSE. I think the guy that dresses up as the Statue of Liberty for tourists to take photos with, right down the block from there, has got to be frustrated... those cops get all the tourist attention, posing for photos all day long! Oh, and then there's of course the fact that when US gov't decided to re-allocate security funds to protecting places like Nebraska, money was shifted away from incredibly vulnerable places like New York. Now, the subway right beneath the NYSE no longer has the 24 hr police booths, monitoring the station and entrances into the tunnels down there. Again, immediately below the precious NYSE. Brilliant.
These people are way too hot to be real cops. I am waiting for the "art film" soundtrack to kick in...
