Heads up: Torontoist will be totally offline between 11 p.m. Wednesday night and 7 a.m. Thursday morning. Our hosts are moving the servers that Torontoist is on, which necessitates eight hours of downtime. Sorry! While we're down, we suggest you read John Lorinc's gun crime article in this month's Toronto Life. It's sad and frustrating for a number of different reasons, and while we've already taken issue with the article's premise, we've got something big on deck for next week that the article served as something of a catalyst for. Alternately: between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., you could just go to sleep.

Here' hoping that when it's all over
your system won't be as balky and prone
to problems and failures.
We can always hope, right?
That was an awesome "John Lorinc's gun crime article in this month's Toronto Life"
Here's Doug Bell's rebuttal.
Lorinc is one of my favourite current affairs writers but he really struck out on this one. He didn't even prove his thesis and that article has been written dozens of times. With the possible exception of talking to the surgeon, there was nothing unique about it.
