SPORTS: Over at BMO Field, Argentinian footballers Independiente are in town to play Toronto FC in an exhibition match. Can't find tickets (and don't feel like moving from the computer to turn on the TV?) The game is being broadcast live on Toronto FC's official video player. BMO Field, 7:30 p.m., $70–$220.

WORDS: As part of the literature series of Toronto's Mad Pride Festival, author Pat Capponi will be reading from her new mystery novel, The Corpse Will Keep. Stick around after for a reception catered by Toronto's Raging Spoon. May Robinson Auditorium (20 West Lodge, at Lansdowne and Queen), 3:30 p.m., FREE.

MUSIC: Join Jenny Lewis protegées The Watson Twins tonight at Lee's Palace as they promote their new album, Fire Songs, for a night of what their MySpace refers to as "Indie/Folk." Filter Magazine raves , "You will rejoice with the mix of sunshine and crunch on Fire Songs." Readers, tonight is your chance to see if you agree. With Tim Fite. Lee's Palace, Doors at 8:00 p.m., $10.
