Seized Guns Mostly Legal, Your Kitty At Risk, G8 Party In Japan

A federal government report says that the majority of firearms seized at US border crossings are legally held down there, and are being smuggled in simply so that their owners don't feel emasculated in a foreign country.

Hide, Rex, hide! Summer students working for the City may be prowling around your neighbourhood looking for unlicensed pets, and if they find any you could be looking at a fine.

Two Toronto police officers charged with running a grow-op and selling marijuana have been released on bail. Defence lawyers claim the pair were taking a Zen approach to crime fighting, which required that they "be the criminal."

Leaders of the G8 group of industrialized nations will meet today in Japan, with climate change at the top of the agenda. In general, they won't cut CO2 emissions until China and India agree to go first, and vice versa, meaning the heavy lifting on saving the planet will have to be picked up by Nauru (population 13,000). Truly, chimps could do better.

At Wimbledon, Spain's Rafael Nadal dashed Roger Federer's hopes at six consecutive mens' singles titles in what the Star calls "…a spellbinding classic. A brilliant memory laid out on a canvas of grass." And you probably missed it.
