Portrait Project: Ms. Pizza Pizza

Sarah Lazarovic—curator of the garage-based Montrose Portrait Gallery of Canada—is painting a portrait of a Torontonian every day. Each Monday, we'll feature one of those portraits here. Suggestions for subjects welcome.

Why aim for Miss Universe when the Ms. Pizza Pizza title is out there?

I am now 8 years into my Pizza Pizza boycott since I was threatened by a pizza driver and a manager for politely asking them to drive more slowly in their mall parking lot where a woman was killed a week earlier by a careless driver. The Pizza Pizza driver had blown through a stop sign at 40 km per hour and nearly clipped our car.

I called the police after being threatened and they came and told me that since the stop sign was in the mall parking lot, and mall parking lots are private property, there is no obligation to stop at the stop signs: they are merely suggestions.

If you have any reason not to order from PIzza Pizza, avoid it at all costs.

Cheers,
Tuds
