There's a section of highway in Victoria BC that has bunnies all over it! Same thing! How do they get their food I wonder? Perhaps the bunny/groundhog inter-highway tunnel systems...

I groundhog-spot every morning while I'm crawling along that stretch of the DVP. I've seen as many as three out at one time, either eating grass or sunning themselves along the southbound concrete barrier.

Yep, totally seen these median-living groundhogs since I was a little kid.

I saw one last spring at the DVP on-ramp at Bayview having a happy grass-eating morning.. but then at night he was dead at the side of the road. Not ashamed to admit I cried.

A huge groundhog was lounging on my parents patio furniture in Etobicoke. They don't live in a very wooded/grassy area (a condo), but nonetheless that thing was content to share the same space with them.
