is the veteran retiring? I also see him every morning and would really miss him. I'm not so keen on the rookie if I'm being honest.
I don't really know - the training thing is an assumption based on the fact that the intersection doesn't really warrant two crossing guards. However, the older guy was out there alone this morning so maybe they gave the rookie his own corner.
