Bills Coming, Maurice Going, Dump Trucks Driving In Circle

180,000 people have applied to buy tickets for the eight games that the NFL's Buffalo Bills will be playing at the Rogers Centre between now and 2012. The tickets will range as high as $295 (pre-scalper), which is still better than having to go to Buffalo. Because it's such a long drive, we mean. Geez, stop being so sensitive, Buffalo.
Ontario is planning to crack down on bootleg cigarettes by launching a public education program advising why you should only kill yourself with taxable smokes. The campaign will point out that proceeds from the illegal kind go to organized crime, not Sting's Rainforest Foundation like that guy in the alley with the Hefty bag full of cigarettes told you.
Ontario's dump truck drivers will stage a protest against wages, working conditions, and the high cost of diesel fuel by driving their trucks slowly around the city's highways for several hours. That's going to be expensive, what with diesel prices so high and all.
With oil prices hitting new record highs of almost $124 a barrel this week, Iran's oil minister predicted today that $200 a barrel isn't far away. The Iranian government is believed to support higher prices as part of their Holy War on dump truck drivers.
In a move that couldn't really have come as much of a surprise, Toronto Maple Leafs fired head coach Paul Maurice yesterday. Two assistant coaches and a goaltending coach were also let go, which combined with the absence of a permanent GM, have led to rumours that the team will operate as a collective next year with all coaching decisions being made by popular vote.

re Picture: I wonder what people will think when they are old an look back at pictures from this decade. The hand signing may look quite funny by then.
On the other hand, maybe relatively few digital photos will last decades, and the phenomenon will be largely forgotten.
In thirty years, that photo is going to be in a Canadian Club ad.
I don't think we need to wait ten to thirty years to mock that photo.
But it's such an original pose. And his baseball hat, it's tilted to the side...he plays by his own rules.
Yo.

By then? It's funny now.
